About Us - Our History
The year is 1995.
Ed van den Heever joined Groman Consulting Group as Director with the primary role to assist the CSIR as Consultant in Total Quality Management (TQM).
In pursuit of excellence in the CSIR, Ed joined forces with Juran Institute Inc. in Wilton Connecticut, USA, where he had the privilege to meet with Dr Joseph Juran,
the “Farther of the Japanese Quality Revolution”. The event made a lasting impact on ED and inspired him to reach for new heights.
During 1998, the inaugural year of the South African Excellence Foundation, Ed was seconded by the CSIR and appointed as the CEO of SAEF.
At the closure of 2001, following a very successful secondment to SAEF Ed formally launched BAS as one of South Africa’s leading consulting companies in performance assessment.
From the outset BAS earned the reputation as being dedicated and committed to organisational performance excellence with a well develop conviction for business excellence
and corporate ethics.
To this day, BAS blends impact assessment as a science, innovation and creativity to deliver solutions to its clients that result in performance and service delivery improvement.
